Program Assistant

This position is funded by the Illinois Arts Council Youth Employment in the Arts program. It is open to individuals aged 18–22, per grant requirements.

Location

Hybrid. On-site locations include HCL's office (205 E. Randolph St., Chicago, IL 60601) and various program and event locations as required.

Availability

Occasional night and weekend availability required.

Compensation 

$18 per hour and end on August 31, 2026. Benefits include paid holidays, paid personal time off.


The Program Assistant contributes to High Concept Labs’ mission by providing administrative and programmatic support. The Program Assistant will assist with scheduling meetings and preparing materials for the Artistic Advisory Council, a panel of experienced arts practitioners who work with staff to guide the artistic direction of programs. The Program Assistant will also organize and distribute photo and video documentation of performances and events, using standardized naming conventions and digital tools like WeTransfer.

The Program Assistant will also provide production and general event support for the Art/Access Lab on Sunday, August 16 and a fundraising event on Sunday, August 30. A key project will be to build on existing resources for artists engaged in HCL’s programs, such as venue databases and maps.
